Over the past two years, severe damage has been done to the global tourism industry. Let’s have a look at these following numbers:

  • 100 to 120 million direct tourism jobs are at risk
  • $910 billion to $1.2 trillion export revenue from tourism drove down in 2020
  • 1.5% to 2.8% of global GDP could be diminished due to Covid 19 restrictions

However, with re-opening international flight routes and loosening border restrictions, the tourism industry is getting on with the “new normal” world. At this time, another challenge posed for stakeholders is how to train and prepare for the service staff to head back on the track.
